apparel DESIGN: contractED WORK
A project I worked for a client that requested a character design and composition design for their brand image M.rage. Main key pillars that were requested from the client which includes a sword girl with modern street fashion in black and white with an accent color.
Finished product in a form of splash art for the website use for their digital release.
inspiration and observation
Started off by observing the brand itself to see where I can draw some inspirations from. Chose the accent color to be red since majority of their designs have red accents in them. I also saw triangles to be predominate to move into the designing portion of the character.
character design
From observation, I have done some thumbnails referencing shinobi/kunoichi outfits combined with Japanese kimono aesthetic to design a stealthy modern street fashion look to the character design. Once I got the approval and lock design, I offered some color variation to see if other colors might work out and they chose the red one to be the design to go forward with the composition phase.

In the composition phase, I wanted to illustrate a strong pose that matches with the feel for the brand image. The right image was chosen to lock design and detail the rest to the final product.

Finalized design and logo design
After detail and refining design, I presented the image to my client with a logo design and how the figure can be orientated with the type.
